Pre-registration

What is pre-registration?

Pre-registration is the general procedure for admission to the first year of undergraduate studies. This modality will be carried out in accordance with the criteria and requirements established in the Royal Decree 534/2024, of June 11, regulating the requirements for access to official university undergraduate courses, the basic characteristics of the entrance exam, and the basic regulations for admission procedures (BOE of June 12, 2024) and in the Admission and registration regulations for official degrees from the University of La Laguna (BOC No. 49 of March 7, 2024).

Students who wish to begin their studies must meet the following requirements: academic requirements established and carry out pre-registration and registration, according to the procedures and deadlines that are determined.

The pre-registration process is organized based on two calls:

Ordinary: It will begin after the period established for the first call for university entrance exams, their final qualification, and notification of the same to the people who have taken them, for undergraduate level courses.

Extraordinary: If, once the ordinary call for applications has concluded, not all the places offered for each course are filled and there is no waiting list, an extraordinary call may be established, which will be regulated by the Instructions governing admission and registration for each academic year.

Access quotas and places offered

The quotas for new students will be distributed between the general quota and the reserve quotas provided for in the Royal Decree 534/2024, of June 11.

He general quota It is made up of students who:

a) Hold a Bachelor's degree from the Spanish educational system or equivalent and have passed the University Entrance Exam.

b) Be in possession of the official titles of Higher Technician of Vocational Training, Higher Technician of Plastic Arts and Design or Higher Sports Technician belonging to the Spanish Educational System, or titles, diplomas or studies declared equivalent.

c) Be in possession of the European Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

d) From foreign educational systems.

The general quota will be filled by the number of places resulting from subtracting the reserved quota from the limit of new students.

The reservation quotas are the following:

    • People over 25 years old who have passed the specific entrance exam at any university and who do not hold an academic qualification that qualifies them for university admission. They are eligible for 3% of the places offered.
    • People over 45 years old who have passed the specific entrance exam for the Canary Islands' public universities and who do not hold an academic qualification that qualifies them for university admission. They are entitled to 21% of the places offered.
    • People over 40 years old Those with access accreditation based on work and professional experience at this University in specific degrees and who do not hold an academic qualification that qualifies for university admission. They are eligible for 1% of the places offered.
      • However, it should be noted that the quota reserved for those over 45 and those over 40 cannot exceed the maximum of 3 % places.
    • Students with a university degree or equivalentThey are entitled to 2% of the places offered.
    • Students with a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 %, as well as for students with permanent special educational needs associated with personal disabilities, who during their previous schooling have required resources and support for their full educational normalization. They are entitled to 5% of the places offered.
    • Students who have been recognized as high-level and high-performance athletes in accordance with the provisions of the Royal Decree 971/2007, of July 13, on high-level and high-performance athletesThey are entitled to 3% of the places offered.
      • Exceptionally, 8 % places are reserved for the Degree in Physiotherapy and the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences.

Generally speaking, applicants may apply for more than one place, provided they meet the requirements for each one.

The following are exceptions to the above: applicants for places under the quotas for persons aged 25 and 45 or over, or for those over 40 who can demonstrate work or professional experience, who may only apply simultaneously with the reserved quotas for students with disabilities and/or for high-level or high-performance athletes.

Consult in this link the general documentation required by quotas.

Group AStudents who fall into one of the groups listed below will be selected. These students will not need to provide documentation unless they also apply for a place under the reserved quota for students with disabilities or high-level or high-performance athletes.

Consult this link the documentation to be submitted.

Procedure for assessing and ordering the allocation of places by quota

The scoring and ranking of applications will be carried out independently for each quota, and the reasons for exclusion specific to each quota will not affect applications for the same degree submitted under a different quota.

In the event that there are vacant places in any quota, the following reassignment order will be applied:

  • Vacancies registered in reserve quotas will be automatically added to the general quota for the same degree, except for the quota for high-level and high-performance athletes and the quota for students with disabilities, which will remain open until the extraordinary call for applications.
  • If vacancies arise in the general quota and there is a waiting list for the reserve quotas, before proceeding to allocate places in the second list of the process, the vacancies must be reallocated by accumulating them in said special quotas.
  • Exceptionally, if vacancies arise in the quotas for those over 40 and 45 years of age, and there are applications, the places will be distributed among them before being reassigned to the general quota.
  • If there are any vacant places in the quota for high-level and high-performance athletes and the quota for students with disabilities in the extraordinary call, these places will be vacated in accordance with the provisions set forth in the previous points.

If, after transferring applications to one of the quotas, more places are allocated than the number of applications on the waiting list, the remaining number will be automatically and fully reassigned to the quota with the highest number of people on the waiting list.

Procedure for allocating places in the ordinary call

The University of La Laguna orders the ordinary pre-registration process to request a place for the academic year 2025-2026 in successive phases through two lists of places allocated, accompanied by two waiting lists, which will be published on the University's website.

First award list

He July 14 The first list will be published and will generate the right to registration for those who have obtained a place in the studies chosen first.

  • Those who have obtained a place in the studies as first preference They must formalize their registration electronically. July 14-16. Otherwise will be excluded definitely from the pre-registration system.
  • People who have obtained a place in a degree chosen as a second or subsequent preference No They must enroll during this period, waiting for the publication of the second list of places to be allocated in order to obtain a place in the degree program they applied for first. The place awarded on this first list is not lost unless another place with higher priority is obtained.

However, if you ultimately wish to pursue this degree that was not initially chosen, you can formalize your registration online from July 14 to 16, This means that students will automatically lose their preferred places and lose their place on the waiting lists. For the University of La Laguna, enrollment in these cases implies first-choice treatment for that place, and therefore, with this enrollment, the student will complete their pre-registration process.

Second award list

He July 18 The second list will be published and grants the right to enroll to those who have obtained a place in any of the requested degrees, regardless of the order of preference:

  • Those who have obtained a place in the chosen studies as first preference They must formalize their registration electronically. July 18-22Otherwise, they will be permanently excluded from the pre-registration system.
  • People who obtain a place in a chosen degree in second or subsequent preferences, may also register electronically July 18-22 They will also retain their status on the waiting lists for the most preferred degrees. If they decide not to enroll during this period, they will lose their allocated place, although they will remain on the waiting lists for the most preferred degrees.

Final allocation to students on waiting lists in the ordinary call

In the ordinary call pre-registration, once registration for the places granted in the second allocation list has been completed, if there are any vacancies, the waiting lists published with the second allocation lists will be executed.

This procedure will, in some cases, allow for successive improvements in places for those who have enrolled, or not, in second or subsequent preferences during the enrollment period of the second allocation list, or who have not obtained a place.

The procedure for executing waiting lists will be carried out exclusively during the following time slots: 09:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. (official Canary Islands time), on the following days: July 24 and 25.

IMPORTANT:

Before the start of each indicated time slot, at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., the vacant places will be distributed, with each person having the time indicated in the previous paragraph to accept the new place that has been granted to them.

If you choose to accept the new spot, you must confirm it. This will result in the cancellation of your previous registration (registration from the second list of places allocated) and the cancellation of your confirmed spot in a previous time slot, if applicable. Confirming the new spot does not mean you lose the chance to secure a new, more preferential spot in subsequent time slots.

Do not confirm This will imply the waiver of the newly allocated place, keeping the one previously held and/or the possibility of obtaining a new one of better preference in the following time slots.

Those who have finally obtained a place and confirmed it, must formalize their registration telematic way of the July 28-29 If they do not do so, they will be permanently excluded from the regular pre-registration system and will lose their place.

Precedence in case of equal admission grade

When a tie arises for the allocation of places among applications with the same admission score, they will be sorted alphabetically by surname and first name, starting with the letter of the draw conducted annually by the State Secretariat for Public Administration.
