The university also has a Information and Guidance Service (SIO) This office is intended to inform, advise, and guide prospective students on matters related to their education and university life, as well as to direct them to the appropriate offices with any more specific requests. The SIO is located on the ground floor of the Central Building of the University of La Laguna's Central Campus, on Pedro Zerolo Street in La Laguna.
Welcome and orientation of new arrivals
The Doctoral School will offer a welcome day for new students, as well as information sessions on specific topics of interest. All students are also enrolled in a virtual classroom for notifications and a communication channel.
Students will also attend a program presentation session led by the coordinator of the University of La Laguna's academic committee and will be included in a virtual classroom for the program.

Internal Quality Assurance Service of the University of La Laguna
As a guarantee of the quality of teaching, its improvement, and the protection of the rights of students and faculty, the degree program is governed by specific regulations regarding dissemination mechanisms within the University of La Laguna's Internal Quality Assurance System.
To access any of the ULL's doctoral programs, you must meet the requirements established in Article 5 of the Regulations for Official Doctoral Studies at the University of La Laguna.
The applicant must submit the endorsement of a researcher as a potential supervisor for the doctoral thesis, meeting the requirements of Article 10 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations. This endorsement must be from a researcher assigned to the program. However, if academic reasons warrant an external endorsement, the endorser must be requested to join the program.
Additionally, this doctoral program requires proof of a B1 level of English, as provided for in Article 6 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations.
Admission profile
To enter this doctoral program, applicants must hold a degree that provides knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the Arts and Humanities. The following qualifications are available:

- a) Bachelor's or Master's Degree holder in the field of Arts and Humanities.

- b) Architect (Research Line 1)

- c) Engineer or Graduate in Industrial Design (Research Line 1)

- d) Higher Degree in Music (Research Line 1)

- e) Higher Degree in Performing Arts (Research Line 1)

- f) Bachelor or Graduate in Information Sciences with a Master's Degree in the Branches of Arts and Humanities (Research Lines 1 and 2)

- g) Graduate in Medicine (Research Line 1, for the purpose of conducting iconographic studies); (Research Line 2, for the purpose of conducting studies in forensic linguistics).

- h) Bachelor's or Graduate in Computer Science (Research Line 2, with the aim of carrying out studies on computer language).
- Admission is also contemplated for other graduates and university graduates who have completed 60 ECTS credits in other official master's degrees, whose content is related to the program's objectives or the lines of research associated with the Doctoral Program in Arts and Humanities.
Students with specific educational support needs
In compliance with Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28, which regulates official doctoral studies, a specific program is in place to assist students with specific educational support needs to promote their educational and social integration. More information here.
As established in Article 6 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations, the academic committee may establish criteria for the selection and admission of students. In the case of this program, the following criteria will be applied to evaluate applications:
1. Average grade of the academic record, including grades for bachelor's or master's degrees (in cases where this is a requirement for access to the program): up to a maximum of 52%.
2. Adequacy of the undergraduate and specific postgraduate training to the applicant's preferred line of research: up to a maximum of 13%
3. Accreditation of a higher level of English than required (B1): up to level B2, maximum 5%.
4. Having enjoyed collaboration or predoctoral scholarships, awards: up to 10%
5. Internships at other national or foreign research centres; also experience in collaboration in research activities (participation in a collective article, participation in conferences or scientific dissemination events, collaboration in a research team): up to 10%.
6. Additional undergraduate, postgraduate or specialization training in the field of arts and humanities: up to 10%.
Body in charge of the admission process
The body responsible for the admissions process is the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program in Arts and Humanities at the University of La Laguna.
The ULL Doctoral Regulations establish that admission to doctoral programs may include specific additional training requirements, in line with the admission profiles established for the corresponding doctoral program. These specific additional training requirements will be considered doctoral-level training for the purposes of public fees and the awarding of scholarships and grants.
Depending on the student's entry profile, the academic committee will decide which training complements the student must take, taking into account the following training complement itineraries: Students oriented towards Research Line 1 (Philological, Literary and Cultural Studies) should preferably acquire skills in methodological training content in Cultural Studies, Conservation and Restoration, Artistic Creation, Art Theory, Art History, Design, Literary Studies and/or Philological Studies.
Students oriented towards Research Line 2 (Linguistic Studies) must acquire skills in linguistic research methods.
The competencies and content of the supplements for these pathways may correspond to those of official ULL master's degree subjects that provide access to this program, or methodological or specialization subjects from one of the Bachelor's degrees related to the Program's lines of research.
