Language level certification

To access certain doctoral studies, it will be mandatory to prove the language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which will depend on the doctorate you wish to access. See the following link to see which PhD programs require language skills and which do not.

Language level accreditation methods

Accreditation may be carried out by:

1. Recognized documents. These are those that justify knowledge of the language (equivalence tables).
2. Level tests carried out at the ULL Language Service.
3. Having completed and passed certain official ULL Degree Qualifications, the completion of which recognises the achievement of foreign language skills. See the following link, List of official ULL degree qualifications whose completion recognises the achievement of foreign language skills
4. Having taken and passed certain subjects of the different official ULL Degree titles. See the following link, List of subjects from the different official ULL Degree courses, the completion of which involves attaining foreign language skills (level B1)
5. Having taken and passed certain subjects of official degrees taught at the ULPGC. See the following link, subjects passed at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, according to Agreement (ULL-ULPGC).
6. All applicants, except those included in points 3 and 4, must complete the language level accreditation using the electronic office procedure through the following link Application for recognition of language level within the CEFR framework for students and future students of the University of La Laguna
7. ULL students who prove their language level by passing any of the qualifications and/or subjects listed in points 3 and 4 will not have to complete the procedure described in the previous paragraph.

In any case, when submitting the pre-registration application, no document must be provided to prove the language level. The application will automatically upload the data resulting from points 6 and 7.
