Competencies

Basic Competencies

1. To systematically understand the field of study of philosophy, as well as to master the research skills and methods related to said field.

2. Ability to conceive, design or create, implement and adopt a substantial research or creation process in different areas of research: social anthropology, aesthetics, theoretical and practical philosophy, and logic.

3. Ability to contribute to the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge through original philosophical research in different fields of fundamental research.

4. Ability to carry out a critical analysis and evaluation and synthesis of new and complex philosophical, scientific or humanistic ideas.

5. Ability to communicate with the philosophical, humanistic and scientific academic community, as well as with society in general, about their areas of knowledge in the modes and languages commonly used in the international scientific community.

6. Ability to promote, in academic and professional contexts, scientific, technological, social, artistic or cultural reflection and progress within a knowledge-based society.

Personal abilities and skills

1. Operate in academic and extra-academic contexts where there is little specific information on certain philosophical issues or problems.

2. Find the key questions that need to be answered to solve a complex problem.

3. Design, create, develop, and undertake creative and innovative projects in the field of philosophical knowledge and, in general, culture.

4. Work both as a team and independently in an international or multidisciplinary context, creating or integrating into research networks.

5. Integrate knowledge, deal with complexity and make judgments with limited information.

6. Assume criticism and the argumentative defense of solutions as a substantial part of the scientific-research ethos.

Other competences

1. To expand the boundaries of philosophical knowledge or of a field of study within it, the results of which merit, at least, a publication referenced at a national and/or international level.

2. Design and develop projects related to your research in different administrative contexts that allow you to finance part of your work.

3. Promote, direct and develop research and cultural development work in different academic and professional contexts in the context of a global society based on knowledge.

4. Direct original research work.
