Thesis supervision
Although the Program does not have a Guide to good practices for the supervision or tutelage of doctoral students, the following are essential duties of the director:
a. Assist the doctoral candidate in defining the topic of his/her doctoral research, which should culminate in the doctoral thesis.
b. To help the doctoral student to deal with the different aspects related to the research and to establish the specific details of the same, as well as the required means and, where appropriate, the design.
c. Indicate to the doctoral student the most appropriate training activities for his/her research.
d. Communicate to the doctoral student any ethical standards or aspects that may be related to his/her research.
e. Establish the research work supervision plan and plan regular meetings.
f. Read, correct and comment on the thesis manuscript, in subsequent drafts, prior to the agreed date for submission.
g. Be aware of the administrative and academic requirements for defending the thesis and the time limits corresponding to the entire process, as well as ensure that the doctoral student is aware of them.
