Access and admission

The recommended entry profile for the Doctoral Programme in Industrial, Computer and Environmental Engineering is a graduate in Science, Health Sciences or Engineering and Architecture who has completed an official master's degree in subjects related to the research lines of the doctoral programme. In addition, it is recommended that you have at least level B1 knowledge of English. 

The doctoral program does not contemplate any entry profiles other than the one recommended.

In addition, the university offers more personalized face-to-face support through the Information and Guidance Service (SIO)The SIO has an information area, which responds to the academic and administrative information requests of the ULL, a psychopedagogical advisory service, and a legal advisory service, which provides administrative, academic and various regulatory information to the Information area, in addition to offering individualized attention on any legal queries related to the stay at the university.

To access the Doctoral Programs in general, the requirements described below must be met. on the website of the Graduate Commission, following the Regulations for Official Doctoral Studies at the University of La Laguna (April 30, 2019)Article 5.- Requirements for access to official doctoral courses.

Doctoral studies may be carried out on a full-time or part-time basis, under the terms provided for in the Regulations on the regime of dedication and permanence in doctoral studies at the ULL, as reflected in Article 7.- Dedication regime of the aforementioned Regulation

As established in Article 6.- Admission criteria of the Regulations for Official Doctoral Studies at the University of La Laguna (April 30, 2019)The academic committees are responsible for establishing additional criteria for the selection and admission of students to the doctoral program. 

The academic committee of the Industrial, Computer and Environmental Engineering (I3MA) doctoral program will apply the following admission criteria:

  • Academic record.- Bachelor's degree (up to 4 points) and Master's degree (up to 2 points). The score will be obtained by normalizing the student's academic record grade to the intervals [0, 4] and [0, 2], respectively, using the following conversion when necessary: pass (1 point), notable (2 points), outstanding (3 points), honors (4 points).
  • Curriculum vitae (up to 2 points). Previous experience in research and transfer in the research lines of the doctoral program will be valued.
  • Personal interview (up to 2 points). The student's availability (total or partial) to write the thesis will be assessed, as well as his/her oral expression and teamwork skills, as well as his/her knowledge of English.

The minimum score for admission to the doctoral program is 5 points. Admission criteria will be the same for full-time and part-time students.
