Organic Law 4/2007, of April 12, amending Organic Law 6/2001, of December 21, on Universities.

First additional provision. From the Body of University School Professors and the integration of its members into the Body of Full University Professors.

As of the entry into force of this Law, upon application to the Rector of the university, civil servants with PhDs from the Corps of University School Professors may join the Corps of Full University Professors in the same positions they currently hold, maintaining all their rights. Their entry date into the Corps of Full University Professors will be considered the same as their original position. Those who do not request such integration will remain in their current position and retain their full teaching and research capacity. They may also apply for the accreditation as university professor provided for in Article 60.1 of this Organic Law on Universities.

Organic Law 4/2007, of April 12, amending Organic Law 6/2001, of December 21, on Universities.

Second additional provision. Of the Body of Full Professors of University Schools and the integration of its members into the Body of Full University Professors.

Integration request (Full Professors of University School).

For the purposes of these professors' access to the Corps of Full Professors at University Schools, full professors at university schools who, upon the entry into force of this Law, hold a doctorate or subsequently obtain one, and are specifically accredited within the framework of the provisions of Article 57, will directly access the Corps of Full Professors at University Schools, in their own positions. For the accreditation of Full Professors at University Schools, consideration will be given to their research, management, and, particularly, teaching.

Universities will establish programs to help tenured professors combine their teaching duties with obtaining a doctorate.

Those who do not achieve the status of Full Professor will remain in their current status, maintaining all their rights and retaining their full teaching and, where applicable, research capacity.

As long as there are professors who are tenured at university schools or qualified for that category but are not accredited for a higher category, universities may hold competitions among them to fill positions as professors at university schools.
