Frequently Asked Questions

1.- ¿What requirements must be met to be a collaborating entity of the ULL??

If you are a company, public administration, foundation, non-profit organization, or even a self-employed person interested in collaborating in hosting university students for internships, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be duly constituted.
  2. Not having an employment regulation file open at the start date of the internship.
  3. Provide the appropriate means and facilities for the development of the practices.
  4. Have qualified personnel to supervise the internships, who have professional experience, as well as the necessary qualifications and knowledge to provide effective supervision.

2.- What procedures do I have to follow to become a collaborating entity of the ULL?

It is necessary to formalize an Educational Cooperation Agreement with the ULL.

If you meet the requirements established in the previous section and want to collaborate with us, you can start the procedure for formalizing the Educational Cooperation Agreement through the following link

If you want to view our agreement model you can do so through this link.

3.- ¿What types of internships can be done at collaborating entities?

Collaborating entities may host students who undertake external internships in the following modalities:

  • Curricular, when they are considered academic activities that are part of the student's curriculum, and the student must be enrolled in the subject(s) at the time of their completion. These internships will have the duration specified in the subject's curriculum. They may or may not be paid. In the first case, the collaborating entity is required to assume Social Security obligations.
  • Extracurricular activities, These are those that students may undertake voluntarily during their training period and which, although having the same purposes as curricular internships, are not part of the corresponding curriculum. Extracurricular internships without scholarship or study grants may be taken if the curricular internships have not been previously passed. The same time limit is assigned to the curricular internship subject or subjects in the verification report of the corresponding degree. Internships taken after the credits for the subject have been passed must be extracurricular, with scholarship or study grants.

Before the internship begins, the student's annex to the educational cooperation agreement for external internships must be formalized, which must be signed by the university and the collaborating entity.

4.- Do collaborating entities have obligations regarding Social Security?

  1. Unpaid internships.
The collaborating entity may voluntarily assume the student's Social Security contributions, taking charge of both the management and the cost of this expense.
In this case, an annex to the collaboration agreement must have been formalized, reflecting this commitment.

  2. Paid curricular or extracurricular internships.
The collaborating entity must assume, without exception, its obligations to Social Security.
Collaborating entities may rely on the assistance of the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna (FGULL) for Social Security registration and the payment of financial aid, if applicable. The FGULL contact for these procedures is:
