Title description

The University of La Laguna has been a pioneer in postgraduate training in interpreting in Spain since it created the Master's Degree in Conference Interpreting (MIC) in 1988, the first postgraduate degree dedicated to this discipline, available in both consecutive and simultaneous formats. The MIC is endorsed and collaborates with the European Commission and the European Parliament and is part of the international consortium EMCI (European Masters in Conference Interpreting), with whose members it shares an essentially practical methodology that seeks not only to provide students with mastery of interpreting techniques but also an in-depth understanding of the conference interpreting labor market. This makes this postgraduate degree a professionally oriented course, designed to facilitate the entry of its graduates into a highly competitive and demanding sector. The MIC offers interpreting training in a wide variety of languages. In addition to the usual languages (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish), it also offers training in languages such as Romanian, Polish, Greek, and Dutch, among others.
