The general objective of the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management is to train professionals to lead and manage economic entities, especially businesses. This training must ensure the acquisition of a series of general skills necessary for the professional to function adequately in the business world.
By acquiring these skills, professionals will be able to perform their duties both within the organization as a whole and in any of its functional areas: production, human resources, financing, marketing, investment, administration, or accounting. Graduates must be able to identify and anticipate opportunities, allocate resources, organize information, select and motivate people, make decisions, achieve objectives, and evaluate results.
New students must be motivated to develop in the field of business and business management. Thus, their interests should encompass economics, social issues, and any of the functional areas of a company, including management in general. Therefore, it is advisable to possess certain key skills and attitudes, such as responsibility and the ability to work independently and in a team, communication skills, and a proactive and entrepreneurial spirit.
It is also recommended that prospective students have numerical and abstract reasoning skills, basic knowledge of scientific mathematics, and good oral and written expression. Likewise, it is considered appropriate for new students to have a basic level of English.
The degree in Business Administration and Management qualifies students to practice the regulated profession of economist and to engage in the following professional activities, both in the public and private sectors:
