Each academic year, ULL centres implement Guidance and Tutorial Action Plans (POAT) to be developed in their degrees to provide students with support and guidance systems once they have enrolled.
The training activities included in the POAT address various topics through which it is intended to facilitate the students' academic-professional decision-making at their different stages (reception and integration into the centre and the university, guidance throughout the degree and for their incorporation into the labour market), which will allow them to successfully complete the degree and adapt to new demands: autonomous learning strategies, teamwork, improving academic performance results, resolving difficulties, information and advice on external internships and final degree projects, guidance on existing mobility programmes, demands and characteristics of the labour market, etc.
Are specific objectives of the POAT in the Technical Architecture Section:
– Improve student adaptation to the University and the Centre, encouraging their integration into university life and into participation and management bodies.
- Provide guidance to students regarding the Center's resources and facilities, facilitating the channels and rules that guarantee their availability and proper use.
– Provide training and support to students to acquire strategies that contribute to improving access, information management and independent learning.
– Promote students’ skills for proper planning and taking advantage of their dedication to study.
– Contribute to students acquiring skills, abilities and capacities for academic and professional decision-making.
– Provide guidance to students on job placement and continuing education options.
To achieve these objectives the following will be developed: actions:
– Career tutoring: can be defined as the task carried out by a teacher who is concerned with the comprehensive training of a small group of students throughout their studies. The aim is to contribute to the comprehensive development of students, monitoring and optimising the training process on an ongoing basis and promoting independent learning, research and professional performance.
– Orientation activities: These activities address the needs of students related to information (information guide, consultation on validations, courses, grants) and complementary training (courses, workshops for students). They seek to ensure the connection of the center's students with all the ULL services that in one way or another cover guidance aspects.
