Teaching coordination

To ensure students' proper progress in acquiring basic, general, and specific competencies, the monitoring and coordination of training and assessment activities will be carried out through the teaching coordination committees, which already exist in the Faculty of Education. At the organizational level, the Faculty has several committees that serve as channels of communication and coordination between the dean's office, faculty, and students. Due to their continuity and permanent nature, as outlined in the Internal Regulations, the following deserve special mention: the course committees and the teaching committees.

  • The course commissions They are made up of all the teaching staff in a single academic year and student representatives. Coordination is carried out on an annual basis and can be assumed by any member of the committee, although it generally falls to a professor from any of the departments involved in teaching. These committees' purposes are to ensure academic coordination between the different subjects, assess the assessment systems, discuss class schedules and assessment tests, and, fundamentally, monitor the progress of classes throughout the semesters.
  • The teaching commissions These meetings are held to coordinate the teaching of each degree program. They are made up of the coordinators of the course committees and a representative of the dean's team (vice-dean of the degree program). They typically serve as channels of communication between the dean's office and the course committees, in that, within these committees, the coordinators report on the progress of the course and inform the representative of the dean's office of the agreements reached. Conversely, the coordinators collect the information transmitted by the dean's office and communicate it to the course committees.

Finally, all decisions must be approved by the Faculty Board, which has its own powers over organization, coordination, and management.
