Number of new admission places offered

50 places will be offered during the period of implementation of the degree. After the implementation of the last year, the number of places offered may be increased by the ULL, in response to demand.

The selection of new students will be governed by the general academic management regulations of the ULL; in particular, those that regulate the selection procedures for admission to University Centers of students who meet the legal requirements for access to the university, which can be found in the Instruction Regulating the Access Procedure.

Number of enrollment credits per student and academic period and, where applicable, permanence rules

The minimum number of credits that students must enroll in when starting the degree is set annually by a Decree of the Department of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands (Decree 62/2012, of July 11, which sets the public prices to be paid for the provision of university academic services for the 2012-2013 academic year) by public universities in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. According to this decree, the minimum number depends on the student, thus article 3 establishes that:

  • Students who begin their studies must enroll in the first full course
  • For the Degree in Environmental Sciences, it is recommended that students enroll in the first year for 60 ECTS credits. However, in order to accommodate part-time students, 30 ECTS credits are established as the minimum number of credits that students can enroll in for the first time in the Degree in Environmental Sciences.
  • Students who continue their studies must enroll in a maximum and minimum number of credits in accordance with the regulatory instruction for university enrollment that is published each year by the General Secretariat of the ULL and in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations on Progress and Permanence in the Degree Courses of the University of La Laguna.

Special Education Needs

In the 1999/2000 academic year, the Vice-Rectorate for Students of the University of La Laguna launched the Program for Attention to Students with Disabilities, with the aim of guaranteeing equal conditions for students with disabilities with those of the rest of students, integrating these people into the University in all aspects that affect their studies and university life. To this end, a series of projects and actions are carried out annually, which can be summarized as follows:

  • Inform and advise affected students who are going to access the ULL.
  • Prepare and update the census of students with disabilities at ULL as a mechanism to guarantee them personalized attention.
  • Addressing students' integration problems, understanding their needs and responding to them.
  • Promote the elimination of architectural and communication barriers by carrying out accessibility studies in university buildings.
  • Maintain contact and provide direct attention to all students who attend the Program.
  • Inform and advise teachers about their students' difficulties and the specific teaching methods for each of them.
  • Offer technical assistance required by students with disabilities.
  • Provide information on qualifications, training courses, conferences, sports activities and other activities related to the world of disability.
  • Promote and support associations among students with disabilities.
  • Conduct awareness-raising and training campaigns on disability issues aimed at the university community.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with those institutions and organizations linked to the field of disability.

The procedure for issuing the European Diploma Supplement will be in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 1044/2003, of 1 August (BOE of 11 September 2003).

Language in which the degree is taught

The language used throughout the training process is Spanish, however, different activities within each subject are taught in English (constituting a minimum of 12 ECTS).
