Final Degree Project
Students may register to do the Final Degree Project (TFG) when they have a maximum of 78 ECTS left to complete the degree and have registered for all the basic and compulsory credits they have left to complete, or have previously passed them. In the Final Degree Project offer, it may be required, on an individual basis, to have taken or be taking a specific compulsory or optional subject.
Given that students must demonstrate that they have acquired the competence of knowledge of a second foreign language, it has been established as a prerequisite for the presentation and defense of the TFG that the student must prove knowledge of English as a foreign language, and must prove level B1 or equivalent. The documentation that accredits the certification of said level It is the same as that required for access to the ULL Master's degrees.
The TFG must be conceived and designed so that the total working time of the student is in accordance with the number of credits assigned (12 credits). Taking into account a total dedication of 25 hours of work per ECTS credit, a face-to-face work of approximately 245 hours will be carried out (37.5 hours/week for 6 and a half weeks of the course). During this period, the students will carry out the theoretical-experimental work relevant to achieve the objectives of the work. Of the remaining hours, 48 hours will be spent on independent work by the student, 6 hours attending tutorials and 1 hour on the presentation and defense of the work carried out.
At the time of defending the TFG, students must have passed the rest of the credits required for the degree.
To ensure that the TFGs are adapted to the characteristics of the Degree, students are guided and directed in their work by one or two tutors, who must be teaching and research staff assigned to an area of knowledge involved in teaching the Degree in Environmental Sciences and who preferably teach in the degree.
The work will be carried out independently by the students and will consist of a project, report or study in which it is demonstrated that the competencies required for the degree have been acquired. The TFG will be included in a printed report, which will be defended orally before an evaluation committee and graded like any other subject in the degree.
In order to improve the development of the subject and facilitate the preparation of the TFG Report and its public defense, specific criteria are established that can be consulted in the Teaching Guide of the Subject and in the TFG regulations.
Students must complete the TFG according to the instructions established in the TFG Teaching Guide, which in any case will include the submission, preferably through the virtual classroom of the subject, of a copy of the TFG in electronic format in a format protected against file modification. The report must comply with the style, format and presentation rules included in the Teaching Guide of the subject.
The deadline for submitting the thesis document will be announced along with the publication of the calendar and the composition of the tribunals in charge of evaluating the TFG. The works submitted after the deadline will not be processed, nor will they be eligible for their defence before a tribunal.
The management and coordination of the Final Degree Project is carried out through the virtual classroom.
