Degree in Spanish: Language and Literature
Competencies are the set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be acquired by students throughout the degree, aimed at preparing them for the exercise of professional activities.
In the Degree in Spanish Language and Literature The development of the basic competencies included in the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES), RD1393/2007, by students is guaranteed:
1. That students have demonstrated knowledge and understanding in an area of study that is part of the foundation of general secondary education and is usually at a level that includes some aspects that involve knowledge from the forefront of their field of study.
2. That students know how to apply their knowledge to their work in a professional manner, and possess demonstrable skills through the development and defense of arguments and problem-solving within their area of study.
3. Students should have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data, typically within their area of study, to make judgments that include reflection on relevant social, scientific, or ethical issues.
4. That students can transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialized and non-specialized audiences.
5. That students have developed the learning skills necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.
CG1 Specialized knowledge of the Spanish language at its different levels and its literatures.
CG2 Synchronous knowledge of the theory and practice, of the norm and its types, of the Spanish language.
CG3 Knowledge of the origins of Spanish and its evolution over time.
CG4 Historical and philological study of the main stages, movements, authors and works of Spanish-language literature: Canarian, peninsular and Latin American.
CG5 Introduction to linguistic studies.
CG6 Introduction to the theory of literature and comparative literature.
CG7 Training in the acquisition and learning of Spanish as a foreign language.
CG8 Basic training in new technologies and access to digital information as a complement to learning, teaching, and research.
CG9 Knowledge of Spanish-language literature in relation to European literature.
CG10 Knowledge of literature in relation to other creative languages: visual arts, cinema, music, drama, etc.
CG11 Knowledge of the main events of contemporary history.
CG12 Basic training in the latest trends related to art in its various forms.
