In accordance with the Internal Quality Assurance System (SGIC) of the Philology Section, the degree has teaching coordination mechanisms (horizontal and vertical), the main objective of which is to establish the system to coordinate teaching activity, both in terms of the programming of the subjects and their development and evaluation, in order to guarantee that they are carried out in accordance with the forecasts made, that is, that their temporal planning, the sequencing of the contents of the different subjects and courses that make up the study plan and the allocation of the student's workload are adequate to ensure the correct acquisition of the learning outcomes.
In order to plan, organize, and monitor teaching coordination for the Bachelor's degree, the Section's Quality Committee establishes the processes to be applied in the management and review of the coordination of teaching activities for the degree. The Bachelor's degree has the necessary structure to carry out this coordination at different levels: degree coordinators, course coordinators, and subject coordinators. Teaching coordination is carried out horizontally, both among the teaching staff of a single subject (subject coordination) and among the teaching staff of the subjects in each academic year (course coordination). It is also carried out vertically within the Academic Committee of the Degree, made up of the course coordinators and the Degree Coordinator, who will facilitate communication and coordination between the different academic years. This committee meets at least twice: at the beginning of the academic year to define the objectives and at the end of the academic year to evaluate teaching coordination and academic performance.
Likewise, the Quality Committee, which includes, among others, the coordinators of the Section's various degrees, analyzes the strengths and weaknesses found in relation to the quality of the teaching provided, and establishes appropriate improvements.
