Admission profile

The personal and academic characteristics (abilities, knowledge and interests) that students who are going to begin their studies for the Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy must have are:

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Logical reasoning ability
  • Reading comprehension
  • Sufficient knowledge of complementary sciences: chemistry, biology, physics and statistics
  • Computer skills
  • Adequate language skills
  • Motivation for choosing the degree due to the specific characteristics of the degree and its professional profile.

Graduation profile

The professional profile of the Physiotherapist is marked by the attributions derived from the competencies outlined in the proposed curricular guidelines for the Degree in Physiotherapy prepared by the Commission of Physiotherapy Specialists of the European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT):

– Graduates in Physiotherapy must demonstrate professional competence in their various fields of practice, expressing knowledge, skills, and attitudes in activities that promote, maintain, prevent, protect, and restore health, while respecting the ethical, moral, and cultural principles of the individual and the community.

– You must also demonstrate the ability to adapt to contemporary technologies, always seeking to stay up-to-date through ongoing training.

– They must also acquire a comprehensive view of their profession, one that is both generic and specific to the field of physiotherapy, enabling the inclusion of physiotherapy procedures in its various dimensions.

The provisions of Articles 2 and 7 of Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the regulation of health professions, which contain the basic aspects of qualified health professions.

In accordance with Article 36 of the Constitution, and for the purposes of this law, health professions, titled and regulated, are those whose undergraduate or specialized training is specifically and fundamentally aimed at providing interested parties with the knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to health care, and which are organized in professional associations officially recognized by the public authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the specifically applicable regulations.
