Degree in Art History
Each academic year, ULL centers implement Guidance and Tutorial Action Plans (POAT) for their degree programs to provide students with support and guidance systems once they enroll.
The training activities included in the POAT address various topics that aim to facilitate students' academic and professional decision-making at different stages (welcome and integration into the center and the university, guidance throughout the degree and for their incorporation into the labor market), which will allow them to successfully complete the degree and adapt to new demands: autonomous learning strategies, teamwork, improvement of academic performance results, resolution of difficulties, information and advice on external internships and final degree projects, guidance on existing mobility programs, demands and characteristics of the labor market, etc.
By enrolling at the ULL, students of the degree can participate in their center's POAT, benefiting from:
- The training and information activities provided throughout the degree.
- Advice from a tutor-teacher, who will support you in your intellectual, academic, and professional pursuits.
- Its recognition in ECTS credits – 1 per academic year – as stated in the Regulations for the Recognition of Credits for Participation in University Activities in Official Undergraduate Studies.
The Faculty of Geography and History has its Guidance and Tutoring system that covers the following lines of action:
- Student orientation before enrolling.
- Orientation for first-year students of the Degree in Geography and History.
- Student guidance during the degree
These lines of action are reflected in each academic year in a Student Guidance and Tutorial Action Plan (POAT) which includes the following actions in accordance with the Faculty's Quality Assurance System:
- Post-PAU Conferences (in February and June). The degree tutors will collaborate with the ULL Vice-Rectorate for Students in welcoming ESO and Bachillerato students visiting the Guajara Campus during these two periods of the year. They will give informative talks on the three degrees offered by the Faculty of Geography and History (History, History of Art, and Geography and Territorial Planning), distribute informational brochures on the three degree programs, and guide a tour of the departments.
- Open House (June 22). The career tutors will collaborate with the Vice-Rectorate for Students of the ULL and the Information and Guidance Service (SIO) During these sessions, we will provide informative talks on the three undergraduate degrees offered by the Faculty of Geography and History (History, History of Art, and Geography and Land Use Planning). The purpose of this session is to inform second-year high school students about the admission and enrollment process at the ULL, the support services available to students, and provide a guided tour of the departmental facilities. We will participate in the development, editing, and distribution of informative brochures on the three degrees.
- Welcome Days to new students enrolled in the three undergraduate programs offered at the Faculty of Geography and History. It will include necessary general information on: the organization and operation of the Faculty and Departments, class and vacation schedules, exam calendar, validations, BULL, General Services of the ULL, SIO, Sports, etc.
- Guidance during the university stageDuring this phase, informative talks and workshops will be held on "Acquiring Information from the ULL Library Service," "Teaching Guides," "Scholarships and Validation," "Erasmus and Seneca Mobility Programs," "External Internships and Final Degree Projects," "Postgraduate and Master's Degrees," "Study Techniques," "Strategies to Improve University Student Communication and Expression," etc.
- Guidance on entering the labor market. During this phase, seminars will be held with professionals from the three degree programs, graduates, experts, etc., to inform students about their career prospects once they complete their studies.
