The Bachelor of Medicine provides the essential theoretical knowledge and clinical skills for all physicians, regardless of their future specialization. During the six years of the degree, students learn the theoretical and practical foundations of medicine, gaining clinical experience. The program covers healthcare, teaching, and research aspects, focusing on disease prevention, health promotion, and maintenance, supported by technological advances and the constant evolution of medical science.

The profile of a future medical student is that of a person with the following characteristics: sufficient knowledge of basic sciences (chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics); reading comprehension and writing skills; user-level computer skills; knowledge of English; and ability to search for bibliographic sources.

They must also have a clear vocation for service and solidarity with others, a capacity for work and teamwork, an analytical and logical reasoning mindset, and a certain degree of manual dexterity.

Practicing medicine in the public and private healthcare systems, upon completion of the corresponding specialized training. Other options include: after completing specific training programs through official master's and doctoral programs, developing a professional career in biomedical research, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, public health, or healthcare management.
