Degree in Journalism

External Internships

Internships in companies, organizations, and institutions are mandatory for official undergraduate degrees offered at the University of La Laguna and provide students with exposure to real-life situations, complementing their training with the reality of the working world.

It is a training activity carried out by university students and supervised by universities. Its objective is to enable students to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in their academic training, promoting the acquisition of skills that prepare them for professional activities, facilitating their employability, and fostering their entrepreneurial capacity.

The Journalism Degree's External Internship course is offered over four months and is taught during the fourth year, throughout the second semester. Its main features are:

1. The ECTS credit for external internships is equivalent to 25 hours of student activity, which must be taken into account in the teaching guides for the degrees and in the offers made.

2. They may be carried out in companies, entities, organizations and institutions external to the University itself, according to the planned modality.

3. They may also be carried out in any department or service of the University of La Laguna that is not dependent on the Center responsible for the degree to which the internship belongs.

4. Given the strictly educational nature of the internships, no obligations inherent to an employment contract will arise under any circumstances.

Requirements

To complete the External Internships, students must have passed all basic credits.
