In order to ensure a more efficient and agile operation of the Faculty of Sciences, the Sections of Biology, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry have been established. For the purposes of internal organization, it has been established that the assignment of the degrees under the academic responsibility of the Faculty is:
- Biology Section: Degree in Biology
- Physics Section: Degree in Physics
- Mathematics Section: Degree in Mathematics
- Chemistry Section: Degree in Chemistry and Degree in Environmental Sciences
It is understood that all teaching and research staff who teach in the degrees assigned to them, students enrolled in the corresponding courses and administrative and service staff who perform their duties there are members of the respective Sections. In accordance with the Internal Regulations (RRI) of the centre, each Section has the autonomy to organise its internal operating regime, without prejudice to the powers in terms of control contemplated in the RRI and attributed to the Faculty Board.

Each Section has a Board that will be chaired by the Dean, who may delegate the presidency to one of the persons who holds one of the vice-deanships. Likewise, the Secretary of each Section Board will be the person who holds the Faculty Secretary, or the person designated by the Dean. Likewise, each Section Board will have a minimum number of members that allows its constitution, respecting in its composition the proportion between the different sectors established by current regulations.
Section Boards must include in their composition 51% of members belonging to the teaching and research staff with permanent links, which will include those who are Directors of the departments with at least 25% of their teaching in the corresponding Section and are members of the Faculty Board. They will also have 9% of teaching and research staff with non-permanent links, 30% of members representing the student sector and 10% of representatives of the administration and services staff, who will be elected by their respective sectors from among their members in the Faculty Board who have been elected by the corresponding electoral constituency. The Faculty Board delegates to the Section Boards the powers that refer exclusively to matters of interest to the respective Sections, with each Section Board being responsible for hearing and resolving any other matter that the Faculty Board expressly delegates to it, with the exceptions set out in the current regulations. The Faculty of Science Boards will be informed of the agreements adopted by the Section Boards held previously, and the Plenary may revoke the delegation made at any time, recovering the exercise of the delegated powers.
