General information

This is a degree whose main characteristic is its multidisciplinary nature. It is a degree that pivots on two main pillars: a predominantly legal education (especially in Labor and Social Security Law), which is the foundation upon which the Social Graduate profession is developed; and the introduction and consolidation of the economic, social, and organizational aspects of the labor relations professional, who currently, and for over a decade now, has been taking on a leading role in the world of labor relations, developing other professions and positions in companies (personnel and human resources managers, public administration, etc.) as privileged subjects in the knowledge and functioning of companies and labor markets in contemporary societies.

No specific prior training is required for admission to the Degree in Industrial Relations, although the most appropriate training for students is that of students who have completed the Social Sciences program in the Baccalaureate, as well as the Scientific-Technological program, without prejudice to the Humanities program also being suitable, provided that they have included in their training the core mathematics subjects included in the Social Sciences program.

It is advisable that students demonstrate interest in aspects related to the degree's educational objectives and possess skills that will equip them to be receptive to the learning outcomes they will acquire while pursuing the program. Desirable qualities for prospective students of the Bachelor's Degree in Labor Relations include:

● That their interests include economic and social aspects and those related to the world of work.
● Must have skills in oral and written comprehension and expression, problem-solving and decision-making, as well as in dealing with the public. And must have a good memory.
● Be able to synthesize and argue critically, work in a team, be responsible and consistent in work, and be able to abstract.
● It is recommended that students have an adequate level of English language proficiency (B1 or equivalent: Baccalaureate, FP, etc.).

The Bachelor's Degree in Labor Relations from the University of La Laguna trains Labor Relations professionals with the capacity to practice as a social graduate, to dedicate themselves to human resources management in the public and private sectors, to work in the field of management, mediation and intervention in the labor market, to teach and begin academic research, to dedicate themselves to legal-labor auditing, to apply for positions in the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate (both as inspector and sub-inspector), as well as to apply for positions in the Social Security Administration (at all levels from A1).
