Student Care Program with
Specific Educational Support Needs

The Program for Students with Specific Educational Support Needs (PAED), which reports to the Office of the Vice-Rector for Students, is responsible for analyzing and responding to the needs of students with disabilities (visual, hearing, physical, and mental) and/or specific educational support needs (NEAE) who are pursuing undergraduate, master's, doctoral, or advanced studies.

Who is it for?

This program is aimed at students with specific educational support needs (SEAE) who require support and appropriate adaptations or assistance to achieve their academic goals:

  •  Physical, sensory, organic or mental disability.
  •  Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  •  Severe Conduct Disorder.
  •  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  •  Specific Learning Difficulties (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia).
  •  Mood disorder.
  •  Anxiety Disorder.
  •  Serious Mental Disorder.
  •  Supervening and/or temporary causes.
  •  Chronic diseases (Crohn's, Fibromyalgia, Fanconi Anemia).
  •  High Intellectual Abilities.

General information

The objectives of the Program for Students with Specific Educational Support Needs are:

  •  Support the teaching and tutoring work of teachers with students enrolled in the PAED.
  •  Ensure equal opportunities and equity.
  •  Promote their integration and participation in the community.
  •  Promote their academic development and learning.

The main functions of the Program are:

  •  Inform and advise students enrolled in the PAED during their university years.
  •  Guide and inform teachers about the needs presented by students enrolled in the PAED.
  •  Design possible non-curricular adaptations to monitor classes, access content, and assessment of students enrolled in the Program.
  •  Facilitate the request for technical and material support through other ULL services.
  •  Promote the elimination of architectural, information access, and communication barriers.
  •  Disseminate information about scholarships, grants, conferences, and other activities related to NEAE.
  •  Raise awareness within the university community about the needs and inclusion of people with special educational needs.
