In accordance with the provisions of article 18 of Real Decreto 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the quality assurance procedure, to access official master's education it will be It is necessary to be in possession of an official Spanish university degree, or, where appropriate, have another University Master’s degree, or another issued by a higher education institution of a country of the EuropeanHigher Education Area (EHEA) that authorizes the same access to Master’s studies.
Likewise, graduates in accordance with educational systems outside the EHEA will be able to access without the need for the homologation of their degrees, after verification by the university that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that they empower the issuing country of the title for access to postgraduate education.
Access through this route will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested person, nor its recognition for other purposes than that of studying the Master’s degree.
As it is a degree that gives access to the professional title of Chief Engineer of the Merchant Navy, the conditions of access to the master's degree must comply with the provisions of the Resolution of the General Secretariat of Universities, of January 20, 2016 (BOE of June 23) which publishes the Agreement of the Council of Universities that establishes recommendations for the proposal by universities of application reports for official titles in the fields of Nautical and Maritime Transport, Marine Technologies, Marine Electrotechnics and Naval Radioelectronics. In accordance with the provisions of section 4.2 of Annex V of the aforementioned Resolution, regarding the official titles linked to the profession of Chief Engineer of the Merchant Navy, the conditions for access to the Master’s Degree in Management in Marine Technologies are as follows:
