The Interuniversity Master's Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching from the Universities of La Laguna and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, enables the exercise of professional activities, according to Order EDU/3498/2011, of December 16, which modifies Order ECI/3858/2007, of December 27, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that enable the exercise of the professions of Teacher of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching.

  • Know the regulations and institutional organization of the educational system and models of quality improvement with application to educational centers
  • Acquire strategies to stimulate student effort and promote their ability to learn by themselves and with others
  • Design and develop learning spaces with special attention to equity, emotional and values education, equal rights and opportunities between men and women
  • Search, obtain, process and communicate information (oral, printed, audiovisual, digital or multimedia), transform it into knowledge and apply it in the teaching and learning processes in the subjects of the specialization taken
  • Design and carry out formal and non-formal activities that contribute to making the center a place of participation and culture in the environment where it is located; participate in the evaluation, research and innovation of teaching and learning processes
  • Know the curricular contents of the subjects related to the corresponding teaching specialization
  • Know the skills necessary to promote learning and coexistence in the classroom, and address discipline and conflict resolution problems
  • Specify the curriculum to be implemented in a teaching center by participating in its collective planning; develop and apply teaching methodologies, both group-based and personalized, adapted to the diversity of students
  • Plan, develop and evaluate the teaching and learning process, promoting processes that facilitate the acquisition of the skills specific to the respective teachings.
  • To know and analyze the historical characteristics of the teaching profession and its current situation
It would be desirable for future students of the Master's Degree in Teacher Training in Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching, by the universities of La Laguna and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, to have the following personal and academic characteristics:

  • This Master's degree qualifies and complies with the provisions of Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education (LOE) which requires, to teach at the levels and stages of secondary education, in addition to the degree of Bachelor, Engineer or Architect or equivalent degree, pedagogical and didactic training at postgraduate level.
