Master's Degree in Food Safety and Quality
This qualification integrates teachers whose teaching and research activity is related to different fields of food safety and quality. It also has the collaboration of professionals from the health administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, as well as representatives of the business sector with responsibilities in the inspection and control of food quality. Collaboration agreements with different public institutions and companies in the food sector will allow students to learn in situ the procedures, standards and techniques that are studied in the training program and that will complement their training.

- The student will learn about food safety and quality management systems, foodborne infection and poisoning and their health and economic importance, the main foods involved in food poisoning and intoxication, the main alert and surveillance systems, regional, national and transnational, procedures for approval and updating of food legislation, the structure and management of a food analysis laboratory, functional foods and nutraceutical products and methods for monitoring the traceability of different food products.
- To train university graduates in health sciences and sciences in the control and certification of food quality and safety in accordance with current national and supranational legislation, allowing them to design, develop, apply and certify techniques and procedures for the bromatological, nutritional, toxicological and biological control of food, as a final product, and the assurance of its quality and hygiene.
- Admission preference will be given to students with degrees in Science and Health Sciences
- Graduates in health sciences and sciences, such as pharmacists, veterinarians, graduates in food science and technology (CTA), doctors, chemists, biologists, etc.
