Dr. Agustina Birba performed her PhD in Biology at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Science of the National University of Buenos Aires. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the BrainLat Institute (Chile) and was the EEG Team-leader and postdoctoral fellow at the Cognitive Neuroscience Center from Saint Andrew’s University (Argentina). She is a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellow at University of La Laguna (ULL, Spain). She is a professor at the ULL and at the Magister in Social Neuroscience of the ICESI University (Colombia). She has received training in cognitive neuroscience, neurolinguistics, electroencephalography, and non-invasive brain stimulation. Her interests and research experience focus on the neuropsychological aspects and the neurophysiologic and neuroanatomical correlates of language and social cognition processes in patients with neurological disorders. She worked on several experimental projects with patients with frontotemporal dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease. She has more than 40 publications, including, book chapters, and papers in leading journals like Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews, Alzheimer’s & Dementia, Neuroimage, Cerebral Cortex, and Brain.
