In order to apply for the Erasmus+ Exchange Programme at Universidad de La Laguna, your university must first send your nomination to ULL Erasmus Office at orincom@ull.es. After being nominated, you must complete your Student Application Form and Learning Agreement and submit them to us within the stipulated time. For further information on the admission procedure and deadlines, please click here.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail from the ULL Erasmus Office if your application is successful. This will include some helpful information for your study placement at ULL.

We advise you not to make travel or accommodation plans until you have received confirmation of a place of study at Universidad de La Laguna.

Please click here to find the contact details of ULL departmental coordinators.

All sending institutions must forward the nominations of their outgoing Erasmus exchange students to orincom@ull.es from 15 March to 15 May 2016 (full academic year and first semester) and 15 October 2016 (second semester).

Prospective students wishing to come to the University of La Laguna under the Erasmus+ programme should fill out and send to our Erasmus Office the Student Application Form and the preliminary Learning Agreement.

For completing your Learning Agreement, you can check the study programmes of the respective faculties or centres with your Erasmus+ departmental coordinator at ULL. Before sending it to us, please make sure that it contains both your signature and that of the responsible person at your home university.

All the documents should be sent to the Erasmus Office, preferably in a single batch through your office, from 15 March and up to 31 May 2016 (for the first semester and the full school year) or from 15 September until 31 October 2016 at the latest (for the second semester). Please send your forms within the stipulated time by e-mail (scanned) to orincom@ull.es or by regular mail to the Erasmus Office at the following postal address: Vicerrectorado de Internacionalización, C/ Viana nº 50, 38201, La Laguna, Tenerife – España. Any document submitted before or after the deadline will not be taken into account. Handwritten documents, or those submitted via fax or any other means than e-mail or regular mail will not be accepted.

PLEASE NOTE: We will only accept applications from students who have been nominated by their home university and only once we have received the nomination. If you have not been nominated, please do not submit an application.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEDICINE STUDENTS: All the students coming to our Faculty of Medicine must apply for the full academic year. Therefore, they must send their documents no later than 31 May 2016.

Academic Year 2016-2017

The academic year is divided into two semesters. The first semester starts on 15 September 2016 and ends on 30 January 2017. The second semester begins on 31 January 2017 and goes until 31 July 2017.
To view the full academic calendar 2016-2017, please click here.

Registration at the Erasmus Office

The Erasmus Office will organise several registration meetings at the beginning of each semester. All Erasmus incoming students must make an appointment to attend these meetings at the information desk at C/Viana 50.

Students are recommended to arrive during the first week of September 2016 (first semester and full academic year) and the second fortnight of January 2017 (second semester).

Please note that registration at the Office is compulsory for all incoming Erasmus students.

Registration period:

  • First semester and full school year: 29 August – 16 September
  • Second semester: 16 – 27 January

Learning Agreement and Erasmus Certificate. During the registration meetings, we will provide you with a printed copy of your signed learning agreement and your Erasmus certificate (“credencial Erasmus”), which you will need for getting your NIE and for enrolling for your courses at your faculty.

Certificate of arrival. If your university requires that we certify your date of arrival, please bring a printed copy of your “Certificate of Arrival” and we will be happy to complete it at the end of the meeting. Please note that the date in the certificate will coincide with the date of registration in our office, not with the date of your flight to Tenerife. We would advise you to contact the responsible person at your home university if you are not sure whether you are required to certify your arrival or not.

Welcome Day

To help you integrate more easily into your new environment, the Erasmus Office organises a Welcome Day at the beginning of each semester.

Enrollment at faculties/centers

After registering at the Erasmus Office, students have to register for the courses selected in their Learning Agreement at their host faculty/centre. All incoming Erasmus students must fill out the standard Enrolment Form, paying special attention to the box provided for Erasmus + students, which they will have to check.

The documents needed to formalise the enrolment are:

  • Enrolment Form («Solicitud de Matrícula Ordinaria»), available at each faculty office
  • Passport or National ID Card (original and a copy)
  • Erasmus student documentation issued by the Erasmus Office
  • NIE (Foreign Identity Number)

Erasmus students are exempt from registration and tuition fees. However, they have to pay the student insurance: 1.13€

Transcript of Records

At the end of the study period, the host faculty/centre will send the transcript of records (ECTS academic document) with the grades for each course to the home university. For any questions concerning the Transcript of Records, please contact the corresponding ULL departmental coordinator.

Extension of Erasmus period

Students wishing to extend their period of study at the University of La Laguna (ULL) must complete the Extension of Erasmus+ Period Form electronically and submit it before the end of the first semester at ULL (30 January 2017). This form can either be sent scanned via email to orincom@ull.es or delivered by hand in the Erasmus Office (C/Viana, 50). After the document has been sent as indicated, the student must come to our office for new Erasmus details, which will be required for the enrolment procedure in the second semester.

Erasmus Certificate of Attendance

Before your departure, please make sure that you come to our office to sign your Certificate of Attendance and to close your file. This certificate can only be signed by us, not by your departmental coordinator at ULL.
Also please note that you must come to our office in person, as we will not be able to sign your certificate if someone comes in your place.

The date of departure in your certificate of attendance will coincide with the date you come to our office for our signature and will not, in any case, be after the end date of the academic period for which you have been selected (first semester: 30 January 2017, full year and second semester: 31 July 2017).

Application forms must be submitted by e-mail (scanned) or regular mail to the International Office.

Handwritten documents, or those submitted via fax or any other means than e-mail or regular mail will not be accepted.

How to apply

Incoming students (all terms) must send the application form between 13 and 26 June 2016. Please note that application forms received before or after this period will not be accepted.

Application forms must be submitted by e-mail (scanned) to orincom@ull.es or to the Erasmus Office by regular post (Calle Viana nº50, 38201 La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain). Those submitted by fax or any other means than e-mail or regular mail will not be accepted.

Preference will be given, firstly, to incoming Erasmus students who will be enrolled at the university for the entire school year, and secondly, to students applying for the first semester. Accommodation at ULL Halls of Residence will only be provided to Erasmus students coming in the second semester in the event that there are rooms still available following the completion of room allocation for full year students and first semester students. Second semester students, however, must apply for accommodation within the overall deadline (13 to 26 June 2016).

The application forms will be processed in order of receipt and the provisional admission list will be published on this website. If the number of applications exceeds the number of rooms available, a waiting list will be made for those applicants who would not have received accommodation.

All fees must be paid in advance at the beginning of every four month period and must be paid in full. Upon their arrival, students must hand in vouchers to the hall of residence or to the accommodation office, located in the «Edificio Central», calle Delgado Barreto, s/n (La Laguna).

Only students whose names are on the Provisional Admission List and are interested in confirming their accommodation should proceed as follows:

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE YOUR DEPOSIT WHILE YOU REMAIN ON THE WAITING LIST. OTHERWISE, YOUR DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

  1. Deposit the reservation fee* in the University’s account. Please ensure that your transfer is identifiable by including your full name and the message «Erasmus», e.g. «John Smith, Erasmus».

*The fee will be returned, where applicable, at the end of the period of residence at the student’s request. The caution fee will not be returned in the event that students leave the residence before the stipulated period agreed on in the Student’s Accommodation Request document.
  2. Email the invoice to the Erasmus Office (orincom@ull.es) within the specified period. Failing to do so, it will be considered to be a rejection of the offer.

Waiting List

If the number of applications exceeds the number of rooms available, a waiting list will be made for those applicants who would not have received accommodation. In July, additional information and a new provisional accommodation list will be published on this website.

Caution and Reservation Fees

The rooms should be in perfect condition at the beginning of the period of residence, and students are responsible for their maintenance. A caution fee will be required to ensure that the rooms are kept in good condition. This deposit will not be paid if students have sent their reservation fee before entering the hall of residence.

The caution fee is equivalent to the monthly fee of the hall of residence in question. It will also serve as a guarantee against the following:

  1. Damages to the precincts of the hall of residence caused by students.
  2. Departure before the end of the period of residence, except for those circumstances provided for in any of the regulations concerning accommodation which justify the premature departure.

The above-mentioned situations will automatically result in the non-reimbursement of the deposit to students. The Director of the Accommodation Service is the final authority to resolve complaints for the non-refund of deposits. Where applicable, deposits will be returned at the end of the period of residence at the student’s request.

Monthly payments

Hall fees should be paid between 1 and 10 of each four-month period.

Conditions of Residence

Acceptance of a room implies that the student knows and agrees to abide by all the terms of the Conditions of Residence. The student should sign such Conditions of Residence upon entering the hall of residence.

Halls of Residence Rules

  1. Code of behaviour (content only available in Spanish)
  2. Accommodation guidelines for exchange students (content only available in Spanish)

Private Housing

For those students who desire to seek alternative arrangements, several announcements for studios and shared flats are posted on the notice boards around the campuses.

For information on housing available for rent, please click here (content only available in Spanish). Please note that this is a service offered by ULL Accommodation Service to all ULL students, not only to Erasmus students. This service is not related to the Erasmus Office, and therefore it is not possible for us to perform any procedures concerning private housing.
