El movimiento feminista canario y el surgimiento de la Coordinadora Feminista de Canarias

Resumen

Este estudio está basado en dos ejes centrales, por un lado, el recorrido del movimiento feminista en Canarias a partir de su surgimiento, desde la muerte del dictador y hasta la década de los noventa del siglo pasado y, por otro lado, el relato histórico sobre la movilización del grupo de mayor relevancia en el archipiélago, la Coordinadora Feminista de Canarias. Todo ello a partir de la aplicación de dos enfoques, la perspectiva de género y la teoría de los «nuevos» movimientos sociales. Para la elaboración del estudio ha sido necesario el trabajo con fuentes primarias que podemos dividir en tres: en primer lugar, el análisis de la documentación perteneciente al Fondo Archivo de la Transición en Canarias–Biblioteca de la Universidad de La Laguna, en segundo lugar, las entrevistas realizadas a militantes de la movilización feminista y, en tercer lugar, el acopio y posterior análisis de un dosier de prensa relativo al periodo histórico que abarca desde 1975 hasta 1997.

This study is based in two central axes, on the one hand, the way of the feminist movement in Canary Island from his emergency, since the dictator death’s until the decade of the nineties and, on the other hand, the historical account of the mobilization of the most important group in the archipelago, the Coordinadora Feminista de Canarias. All from the application of two approaches, the gender perspective or gender mainstreaming and the theory of the «new» social movements. For the preparation of the study has been necessary to work with primary sources that can be divided into a group of three. The first one, the analysis of the documentation pertaining to the Archive Fund Transition Canary Islands–Library of the University of La Laguna, on a second place, interviews with militant mobilization and, thirdly, the gather process and subsequent analysis of a press kit on the historical period ranging from 1975 to 1997.
